REAL ID EXTENSION:

The Real ID requirement for air travel has been extended to May 7, 2025.

Online Service:

If you don't require in-person service and would like a more convenient experience, many common DMV services are available online at the Alaska DMV website.

In-Person Service:

The Seward DMV is a City of Seward Office contracted with the State of Alaska to provide motor vehicle services to the Seward area. This is a limited employee office and the hours are subject to change. Please check the office telephone recording prior to coming in 907-224-4037. Forms and further information can be found at the Alaska DMV website. Seward DMV does not charge the additional $10 fee for coming into the office.

We provide limited State DMV services. Written tests are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.  Written tests must be started prior to 30 minutes to closing.

All road tests must be done in either the Anchorage or Soldotna offices.

Please do not mail Title or Vehicle Registration forms or paperwork to the Seward DMV, we are not able to process any items through the mail. Items can be mailed to the appropriate office in Anchorage. Addresses can be found at the Alaska DMV website.

Items must be processed to closing time. In some cases the DMV door may be closed early to allow customers already in the office to complete their paperwork by closing time. Please be sure to arrive early enough to complete your transaction by closing time.
