The Seward Community Library & Museum is a unique combined public library, museum, archives and community center serving Seward and the surrounding area providing opportunities for equal access to information, technology, lifelong learning, community enrichment, and the preservation of Seward’s heritage.

Museum Winter Hours (October 1 - April 30)

Free Admission.

Friday, 10am - 6pm
Saturday, 10am - 5pm
Closed Sunday and Monday.

We are pleased to announce that we will be showing Waves Over Seward: The Good Friday Earthquake.
Approximately 25 minutes
Admission is $5 person, children 12 & under free. We only accept cash, no cards.
We thank the Seward Community Library Association for giving us special permission to show the movie to the public!

Walk-in

Library Browsing: Full access.
New Library Card: Visit the Library Services webpage to download the form and for more information.
Public Computers: With 45 minute increments. Thank you to the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences for providing grant funds.
Copies: Coin/small bill operated B/W patron copier or request staff assistance.
Printing: B/W patron printer via Wi-Fi or request staff assistance. Ask about color copies and printing.
Scanning: Request staff assistance (sends to an email address).
Faxing: Note it can take time to go through and print a report.

Appointment Only

Passports: Now taking Passport Appointments. Please call or email to schedule an appointment. Visit our Passport webpage for information.
Room Use: The Community Room, Meeting Room and Research Room are available. Contact us for details.

Library Circulation

Loan Limits: Regular accounts limited to 20 items. Temporary accounts limited to 3 items. We will override upon request and good standing.
Holds: Regular account hold limit of 6 items from Seward and partner libraries. Temporary account hold limit of 3 Seward items. Use the online catalog, or contact us for help.
Custom Due Dates: Extended due dates for Seward items upon request at the front desk.
Auto-Renewals: Seward items without holds will be automatically renewed once for the traditional loan period of the item. Call to request a modified due date.
No Overdue Fines: ALL Seward items overdue fines have been forgiven and overdue fines are no longer charged for Seward items. Note: Other libraries who share their items with Seward may still charge overdue fines. Fines may be paid online by selecting your library and logging in to the catalog using your library card number and PIN.

Public Use Computers

The Seward Community Library & Museum can give you access to public use computers as well as new Young Adult computers and Children's computers.
