Welcome to the City of Seward's Mapping/GIS site. This site provides access to the City's interactive web maps as well as static maps that are able to be downloaded and printed. We appreciate questions, comments, and any other feedback that will help us serve you better. For any questions or problems concerning the content or performance of this site, please contact the Community Development department.

Interactive Mapping Applications

The interactive web maps can be used to see a wide variety of information about our city. Many of the maps contain clickable parcels or points of interest that will show a pop-up with more information. The web maps also have layers that you can toggle on and off to customize it to your liking. See below for interactive web maps.

Zoning Map

The Zoning Map contains the zoning districts within city limits and provides information on parcels when the parcels are clicked. Addresses are also visible when zoomed in.

Note: This map uses the layer, KPB Redacted Parcels, from the Kenai Peninsula Borough's Open Data Portal which contains property owner information for each parcel. By using this parcels layer, any updates that are made to the parcels by the Borough will be automatically updated within this map. However, zoning updates and the other layers within this map (i.e. SewardCityLimits, Historic District, etc.) are maintained by the City of Seward's Community Development department. Please notify the Community Development department if there are any issues with this map.

Conditional Use Permits Map

This is a map that shows all current and expired CUPs from 1977 to present day. This map does not include CUPs that failed to pass.

Cemetery Map

This map shows where individuals are laid to rest within the following cemeteries: City, Jesse Lee, American Legion, Pioneers, Masonic, and the old Oddfellows cemetery. Plot information includes headstone photos and associated obituaries.

Thank you to those who participated in the survey to improve the Cemetery Map. Based on feedback, the following improvements have been made to the Cemetery Map:

A tutorial has been added helping users to navigate the application.
The search bar's format has been replaced to stand out more from the background and has a help button next to it to aid users in clearing the search results.
Buttons have been labeled with words.
"GPR" is spelled out to "ground penetrating radar".
The word, "Obituary", has been added to the obituary attachments.
An informational text has been added providing short descriptions of the layers on the map.
Buried individuals whose exact gravesite locations are unknown have been added to the Plots layer as "Unlocated" and are searchable from the search bar. These individuals show up as a small blue rectangle near the Rotary plaque in the City Cemetery on the map and near the plaque for the Jesse Lee Cemetery.

Addressing Updates and Changes

Address Update/Change Form

Click the link above to access our online Address Update/Change Form to change or update an address on your property within city limits. After you submit the form, an email notification will be sent to City staff where we will review your form. Once we assign a new address for you, we will submit that information to the Kenai Peninsula Borough's Addressing Department. An email will be forwarded to you from City staff to show that your address request has been submitted to the Borough.
