If you plan to build a house, commercial building or another structure on your property and need electric service, the Seward Electric Department is here to help.

Provide the requested information in a Residential or Commercial New Service Packet and pay the engineering fee and estimate. The estimate includes the cost of labor, materials and equipment usage. Once the estimate is complete and you’re ready to proceed, you will be charged the project cost minus a $750.00 credit we apply to all new job orders.

New Service Packets may be downloaded from the links below. You also may call (907)224-4073 for an emailed copy.

Once the packet is filled out, please return via email to tcalenici@cityofseward.net. As soon as it is received, we will email you a fillable form outlining the details of your service request along with the estimate. As the property owner, if you agree with the details and the estimate provided, we ask that you sign, initial and send the form back by replying to our email.

The engineering fee and estimated cost can be paid in person by visiting the City’s Utility Desk at 410 Adams Street. You also may pay by calling (907) 224-4050 (option 3) and providing your credit card information.

Following all approvals and paid fees, we will contact you to schedule our work.
